En esta entrada voy a analizar a la nueva Canyon Lux WC 2023, un modelo que este año ha recibido una actualización bastante importante. El cuadro es un poco mas ligero (unos 125 gramos menos) y la geometría ha recibido un par de retoques (68.5º de dirección y vainas un poco mas cortas...). En cuanto a la cinemática el sistema se mantiene prácticamente inalterado ya que la versión anterior funcionaba muy bien y no ha sido necesario realizar ningún cambio significativo...
Como podéis ver en la tabla de excel y en las gráficas anteriores el sistema de la Canyon Lux WC 2023 tiene una Eficacia de Pedaleo impecable, con unos porcentajes de Anti-squat muy elevados en todos los desarrollos. Con un plato de 32T el sistema va un poco sobrado, con uno de 34T va perfecto y con uno de 36T los porcentajes de Anti-squat empiezan a quedar un poco por debajo del 100%. En un modelo de XC es muy difícil conseguir que el sistema se ajuste a la perfección tanto a los corredores profesionales como a los aficionados de fin de semana, pero en este caso Canyon ha conseguido unas cifras muy buenas para la mayoría de la gente. El Pedal-kickback (21º) como es lógico se mantiene en un nivel bastante alto, al igual que el Brake-squat (95%) como suele ser habitual en los sistemas tipo 4-Bar con tirantes flexibles.
En la gráfica del Leverage Ratio vemos como el sistema es del tipo Progresivo-Lineal (2.5~1.8) unas cifras muy buenas para un modelo de XC y con las que se consigue un sistema bastante sensible en el tramo inicial. En cuanto al amortiguador Canyon ofrece varias opciones en función del montaje: Fox Float DPS y Rockshox SIDLuxe de 210x50mm y en principio creo que están muy bien elegidos. Con esa medida el LR medio (2:1) se mantiene en un nivel bajísimo y el amortiguador puede trabajar a una presión muy baja.

First of all, many thanks for the great work you are doing with these bike reviews, that are pretty unique on the internet as far as i know, and very informative for the potential customers.
And my question: according to your review for this bike, as well as the review of the previous version of the Lux, the suspension of the bike, with it's progressive LR and high value at the start (2.5), should be very comfortable and provide good traction and small bump sensitivity, being very good for longer tours.
How come this is in total opposition to what the review on Pinkbike of both the Lux and Lux Trails models said, where they concluded in both tests for both bikes that the suspension was the harshest, least comfortable and providing the least amount of traction on the climbs, even fully open, compared to all the bikes on the test? Do they simpy dont know how to set up the bike, or maybe they just dont like Canyon and wanted to give them a bad review? :) Or is there some other explanation for this in your opinion?
I am tempted by a Lux Trail at the moment, but if the suspension is really that uncomfortable as they said in the Pinkbike review, then i would steer clear of it and look at some other bike.

First of all, Pinkbike is not the right place to read XC Reviews, they only care about Enduro and DH Bikes and they are not racers. But, maybe there is some truth in that test. Canyon know that the system of the Lux is too confortable if you combine it with a normal shock, so maybe they decided to use a extreme tune so the bike feels more supportive... maybe they went too far... Nobody gives information about their tune, so it's hard to know. All I can say it's that if you use a normal shock, the Lux Trail looks like a really nice option for trail riding.
