Very enlightening. I want to second Antonio's comments - its a very impressive design. Also, congratulations Matthias on your more recent work on the Solid Strike which I imagine will supersede this bike.

Un saludo
ChrisUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17241896695243345163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650400550712092979.post-76529399191737344202013-11-06T00:41:27.680+01:002013-11-06T00:41:27.680+01:00Hello Mattias,

I really like your design, it's pretty much flawless.

Here in Europe I think you are fine, but in USA lawsuits are different. Think about Specialized-Volagi, or Yeti-Santa Cruz. A big company can crush a small one, even if they lose at court, because lawers are so expensive...

Best regards,
Tony. Really good to see that someone has spent his time to investigate my suspension :-)
Just wanted to replly to Chis: My suspension design does not violate against Santa Cruzes patents. The outcome is only similar.
The 2 main objectives I tried to reach (and also reached) was the perfect progressivity for a DH-Bike (medium progressively working in the middle area offering good bump absorption) and an extremely hard increase in progressivity at the very end of its travel making it nearly impossible to bottom it out when setup correctly, no matter how tough your riding will be. The other main goal was to design a frame on which load forces are dirstibuted very evenly, making it possible to implement a very lightweight frame that will just last.
The frame is meanwhile distibuted under my own label since Doubledragon unfortunately does not exist any more.
Anyway, you will not see this frame very often - I manufacture only on very small scales.

Cheers
MatthiasMatthias R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16988825501133691871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650400550712092979.post-16141352471667543072012-10-29T11:19:54.050+01:002012-10-29T11:19:54.050+01:00Yep, a really nice bike, and I don't see it as...Yep, a really nice bike, and I don't see it as a V10 clon, the bike has it's own design, but patents are a pain in the ass sometimes...

Un saludo.Antonio Osunahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10075236093614144240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650400550712092979.post-14104314589972713192012-10-29T04:55:45.217+01:002012-10-29T04:55:45.217+01:00Takes its inspiration from Santa Cruz and Antidote...Takes its inspiration from Santa Cruz and Antidote bikes equally it seems. The result is very good (and a lot better than the similar looking Propain Tyee). I don't think it will ever sell in countries recognising the relevant Santa Cruz patents (whatever the merit of the latter).

Good bikes seem to be appearing all the time these days.

Un saludoChrisnoreply@blogger.com
