Me interesa verlos y la nueva khs de carbono que se llama six fifty 6700 (instagram de Logan Bingelli tiene un video) porque veo que son el mismo front triangle de las alchemy. Es decir las alchemy, KHS, las Taokas y otras parecen ser frames de Astro con pintura diferente. Despite the specific and bogus claims of ICT having now been dropped, Ellsworth has decided to continue the largely meaningless "active" suspension mantra.<br /><br />Suspension 'activity' is a notion that has been variously associated with 1) flat or regressive LR curves and/or 2) low/subdued levels of anti-squat. It can be granted that 1 will result in a more active or sensitive suspension. The lack of architecturally provided escalation will almost always require a very advanced shock to compensate - some of the escalation will have to be restored by use of HSC to stop the suspension blowing through its travel. Perhaps, the Epiphany isn't too bad in this connection because even though there is no architectural escalation the LR is low across the range of travel and consequently the ride of the bike would be rather more normal, especially around SAG, than the lack of escalation might first suggest.<br /><br />But what makes a bike with very low anti-squat, i.e. the Epiphany, active, per claim 2. Well, one might say, nothing! To explain that comment, please recall that the basic suspension activity is governed by the LR and shock spring and tune alone. So, without acceleration born of a forcefully driven chain the character of a bike and the degree of activity/sensitivity can be read off from the already mentioned suspension geometry factors and mechanical characteristics. Of course Ellsworth would be right to claim that anti-squat (greater than 0%) introduces an extensive force into the operation of the suspension that limits its activity. But, at the same time, anti-squat also limits the over-activity of the suspension, i.e. squat or suspension bob, born of the rider's pedalling input alone. Anti-squat doesn't impact planned/intended suspension activity per se but rather, at 100% AS, fully counteracts/annuls the squatting caused by acceleration or to put it another way it cancels out a distorting effect in the operation of the suspension that causes the suspension to be wildly over-active during forceful acceleration.<br /><br />The upshot of all this is that talk about activity is frequently overblown, although it may point to something worth considering. While low anti-squat bikes really need a good shock, to make up for the ill-mannered behaviour of the bike, even high anti-squat bikes will greatly benefit from a highly sensitive shock with advanced capabilities and tuning options.
