Alchemy Arktos 29'' 2018

Hi antonio,

I know is not the best publication for ask you about that but I want to know what is the real difference between a titanium coil and standard coil. They tell me they not have the same spring rate but if it's real, what is the difference et the advantage besides the weight.

Thanks

Julien

I think steel and titanium coils can have the same spring rate, but some companies are more accurate than others. If you buy a steel coil rated at 400# but it's really 385# it's going to feel softer than a titanium one that it's really 400#. And if the coil is 410# then it's going to feel harder...

Other than that, the ony difference is weight and fatige life.

My second question is complex. I talk with leo by pole bike and he tell me the token in shock grow the spring curve but reduce de mid stroke support. But if I read what the any company said, the token, increase the mid stroke support. I want to know what is the real information. The token increase or decrease the mid stroke support before to ramp up.

Tokens increase the mid stroke support a tiny little bit. Their main function is to increase the Bottom-Out force. If you want more mid stroke support and you don't want to spend money on a better shock the best option is to run more pressure and reduce Sag.

Best regards,
Tony.
